Did you know there is a mini grand canyon hidden in southwest Georgia? In fact, it’s actually one of seven natural wonders in the state!
When I stumbled upon it on Instagram, I was literally blown away at how stunning and desert-like it looked, and it was less than a day’s drive away from me! I knew right away that I had to do a couple’s shoot here – and soon!
Que Ali and Noah – you may remember them from my Old Florida inspired wedding at Up The Creek Farms from earlier this year! Noah, a firefighter, lives just about an hour from Providence Canyon, and Ali, his sweetheart, just graduated from Auburn, so we knew it was the perfect opportunity to get together and do this awesome engagement-inspired shoot. So, although they aren’t really engaged (quite yet at least), it still gives us all those uber-romantic yet moody vibes.
What’s so cool about Providence Canyon State Park is that you truly think you’re surrounded by tall stretches of canyon rock, but it’s really just Georgia clay! It’s literally insane! But that’s why you have to be so careful when you hike it, because it’s so easy to slip and trip or have a part of the sand crumble away under your feet.
I hope you enjoy this little slice of canyon paradise – and if you’re someone who’s thinking of having your very own Providence Canyon couple’s shoot, be sure to let a girl know!
