Making Bride & Groom Portraits a Priority on Your Wedding Day

Running out of time is the biggest reason why couples skip over the bride and groom portraits, so it’s important to plan for at least 30-minutes to an hour for newlyweds to step away and capture wedding day pictures.

Palm Beach Chapel Wedding

Raquel & Tommy

We can't get enough of these coastal Palm Beach wedding vibes!

Raquel and Tommy’s love story is as enchanting as the ocean breeze that graced their wedding day in Palm Beach, Florida. This captivating couple, who met in a serendipitous twist of fate, celebrated their union with an elegant, beach-themed wedding that was both romantic and unique. Here’s a detailed look into their beautiful journey and the unforgettable day they shared with family and friends.

How They Met

Raquel, a nurse practitioner and nursing professor, met Tommy, a yacht broker and captain, in an unusual yet heartwarming manner. It all began when Raquel was working a shift at the hospital where Tommy’s father was a patient. Tommy’s parents spoke so highly of him that Raquel couldn’t help but be intrigued. As fate would have it, they messaged each other on Instagram just a few days later. Their first date at the Square Grouper, a beach bar, was magical, filled with endless conversations and an undeniable connection. The moment felt so natural that a stranger even mistook them for a long-time couple.

The Proposal

The couple’s journey took a significant turn on December 24, 2022, when Tommy proposed. The proposal marked the beginning of their engagement and set the stage for their dream wedding. From the very start, their relationship was built on a foundation of faith, family, and a mutual love for adventure, all of which were evident in the details of their wedding.

The Venue

Raquel and Tommy chose the stunning Royal Poinciana Chapel in Palm Beach for their ceremony. This historic and picturesque chapel provided a serene and beautiful backdrop for their vows. With its timeless architecture and lush gardens, it perfectly complemented their romantic and elegant wedding theme. The reception was held at the luxurious Singer Oceanfront Resort – Curio Collection by Hilton, a venue known for its breathtaking ocean views and impeccable service.

Wedding Theme and Color Palette

The wedding theme was a blend of romance and beach elegance, with a color palette inspired by tropical seaglass hues. This combination of colors brought a refreshing and vibrant touch to the decor, making every element of the wedding stand out. The tropical colors were reflected in the bridesmaids’ dresses, floral arrangements, and various decor elements throughout the venue.

The Ceremony

The ceremony at Royal Poinciana Chapel was a non-denominational Christian wedding, featuring a unity candle ceremony that symbolized their commitment to each other. Raquel was walked down the aisle by her brother, a touching tribute to their close bond and the memory of their late father. The processional included Raquel’s godmother, Tommy’s sisters, and his nephew, each adding a personal and familial touch to the ceremony.

Raquel looked stunning in her dress from Boca Bridal, with its button back detail and elegant veil, while Tommy and his groomsmen were dapper in their tuxedos from Tux Shop Palm Beach. The ceremony was filled with heartfelt moments, including readings by Tommy’s sisters and a beautiful performance by a vocalist and harpist.

The Reception

The reception at the Singer Oceanfront Resort was nothing short of spectacular. The evening began with a cocktail hour, where guests enjoyed refreshing drinks and hors d’oeuvres while taking in the breathtaking ocean views. The reception decor featured a head table for the bridal party and tables adorned with elegant floral arrangements by Creative Florals.

Dinner was a seated affair, with a menu that included macadamia-encrusted grouper, bone-in filet mignon, and Bahamian-spiced chicken. Each dish was a culinary delight, and guests were treated to a feast that was as delicious as it was beautifully presented.

The couple’s first dance to “Pride and Joy” by Stevie Ray Vaughan set the tone for an evening filled with joy and celebration. Other highlights included the father-daughter dance, the mother-son dance, heartfelt toasts, and a fun bouquet toss. The cake cutting was a sweet moment that everyone enjoyed, and the custom drinks and napkins added a personal touch to the festivities.

Personal Touches and Special Moments

Raquel and Tommy’s wedding was filled with personal touches that made the day even more special. From the memory table that honored their late fathers to the Delta Zeta sorority pin attached to Raquel’s bouquet, every detail was thoughtfully chosen. The couple’s yellow Labrador retriever, Buddy, was also a significant part of their day, joining in for some adorable photos.

The night ended with a beautiful formal exit, where guests gathered outside the chapel to send the couple off with sparklers, creating a magical and memorable moment. The couple’s love for adventure and the ocean was reflected throughout the day, from the venue choices to the decor and even the tropical-themed wedding colors.
