Long Islanders Kelsey and Mike are planning a destination South Florida wedding in September of 2021! We decided that since life is so crazy right now with everything else going on, instead of having them make an extra trip down to the sunshine state to do their engagement photos, I would just come to them! New York is basically like a foreign place to me, but I always imagined as a kid I would be spending some time in the big city.
We ended up deciding on their college campus, Stony Brook University, as the perfect spot. One, because it was pretty flipping cold outside and we wanted a place where we could tuck inside somewhere to get a break from freezing our butts off. Second, it’s a special place to them because even though they didn’t MEET at college, they both spent years there together and had similar hangout spots but never crossed paths until later in life, which is so funny now! But honestly, SBU’s campus is gorgeous and it was the PERFECT time for the fall colors with the trees and leaves all starting to hit the end of their peak. And you just know a Florida girl like me is crazy in love with any photoshoot that involves fall colors. It may be the only thing that takes me away from being a Florida wedding photographer. That and mountains!
Working with Kelsey and Mike was honestly such a breeze because as you’ll see, they are perfectly in tune with each other and have the most genuine personalities. Their smiles and laughter are literally contagious! I honestly felt like I spent the day with two friends at the end, it was so amazing. Now I am even more looking forward to their wedding next year!
