Rachel and Joel’s story began in May of 2023, meeting online, though, as Rachel says, neither of them wanted to be online. But sometimes, divine timing has its own way of weaving people together. From their very first date at a cozy local spot, where laughter and effortless conversation took over, their connection felt undeniably right.
Rachel was initially guarded (her words), but Joel’s persistence and sincerity broke through. It wasn’t a single moment, but rather the consistent way he made her feel: safe, seen, and treasured. That let her know he was the one. His thoughtful, grounded presence became her anchor. And she, with her fierce strength and kind heart, became his.
Their official engagement came just one year later, in May 2025, and their joy was contagious from the very start of the wedding day.

Rachel and Joel hosted their ceremony outdoors, surrounded by 138 of their closest family and friends. A tent was on standby for weather, but thankfully the skies cooperated and the natural beauty of the estate provided a breathtaking backdrop for every frame.

Rachel described their wedding style as romantic, formal, and elegant, and every detail stayed true to that vision. While the specific wedding colors included deep purples, rich reds, and soft pinks, the overall aesthetic leaned into timeless neutrals and soft florals with a graceful charm. The bridal party looked stunning, with bridesmaids in dresses from Azazie and groomsmen in classic tuxes from Men’s Wearhouse, setting a formal yet approachable tone.
From the lace on Rachel’s white heels to the delicate charm on her bouquet in memory of her late grandmother, everything felt deeply intentional and personalized.

Joel’s tux was traditional and polished, and his son, Canon, played a special role as ring bearer. Joel is someone who loves the water, surfing, and crossfit, and yet on this day, all his energy was poured into being fully present with Rachel. That balance of strength and tenderness is something I noticed from the beginning.
Wedding Day Recap
Rachel and Joel’s ceremony was one of the most heartfelt moments of the day. Their Christian faith was front and center, woven into the ceremony with worship music and a special time of prayer with their immediate families.
Because of Rachel’s health sensitivities (including seizure-related light sensitivity), there were no strobe flashes during the ceremony, something we honored with care, ensuring her comfort while still capturing every important moment naturally.
As Rachel walked down the aisle, Joel’s reaction was everything. The moment his face lit up as he saw her for the first time is the kind of emotion I live to capture. The joy, the awe, the deep love… it was written in every expression.
After the ceremony, we spent time capturing couple portraits across the beautiful grounds of Adams Estate. The soft afternoon light was perfect, and Rachel and Joel were naturals in front of the camera. Their love shows effortlessly!
Rachel’s romantic and timeless style really came through in these moments, with flowing veil shots and tender embraces that felt straight out of a film. They asked for photos with their beloved service dogs (a must!), which added the perfect personal touch to their gallery.
The reception was held on-site at Adams Estate, where the evening transitioned into a seated dinner and a celebration filled with love and laughter. The sweetheart table offered them a quiet space to soak in the joy of the day while still being surrounded by the warmth of their guests.
Their first dance to “Yours Forever” by Dara Maclean was intimate and full of meaning. Every toast, every glance, every small moment felt like part of a story they had waited their whole lives to write.
The evening ended with a bubble send-off for a sweet, light-hearted exit that matched their personalities perfectly.
