An engagement session for Christmas lovers!
‘Tis the season for love and weddings! Ilse and John chose the perfect theme for their engagement session as they will be celebrating a winter fairytale wedding at Bellewood Plantation next year!
How They Met
We met at our place of work 6 years ago, I was starting out as a cashier and he was a supervisor, we didn’t talk much for months but eventually he found out I had a crush on him and asked me out on a date, and after that we hit it off and it’s been great since!
How He Proposed
John proposed on May 26 2017. He totally surprised me which is very hard to do since I always want to know plans and have everything organized. So I’ve always been very much involved at my church growing up it’s been like my second home. So he made me believe that my youth group had a day where we were going to talk about how the church has had an impact in our lives and so it was like an Interview type of thing with camera recording and all, so It was my turn to go and I was answering questions and next thing I know our song starts playing and all my family and friends start walking in with bouquets of roses, John walks in last gives a speech and proposes! He gave me 1,095 roses for every day we had been together, it was the sweaters most perfect day ever and he totally blew me away, we actually have the proposal video up on YouTube!
Having a long engagement has really tested our patience but has made us stronger as a couple, it’s been hard seeing a lot of our friends get engaged and married before us but we both decided to have a long engagement was good for us to save for our future and really plan the wedding of our dreams. We’ve grown so much as a couple and I think it was the best decision we have made, we realize how beautiful it is to really enjoy every bit of our engagement and not rush to get married, but we are so excited to start our forever!
